Nathan died in a car accident outside Banff/Lake Louise.
After graduating from WSU, Nathan joined the Army and became an Army Ranger. I never saw him after HS, but knew what he was up to from other friends, and received a very nice note from his parents after his death. He had become quite the outdoorsman and hiker, as part of his Ranger training.
I rememeber when a friend told me that he had joined the Rangers and I thought that was the craziest thing I had ever heard. Nathan was a total string bean in HS, and I thought he'd get beat to a pulp in the Rangers. Obviously he proved me and any other doubters wrong.
Though quiet with most people, I will always remember him as a very free spirit who would take on any challenge. Nathan was kind to everyone, funny, and a good friend.
I didn't know Nathan very well but I was saddened to learn of his death. I'll never forget the Halloween that he taped his ears up to look like Spock from Star Trek. He was always so dang quiet - but that Halloween he really played the part and had me in stiches. He made an outstanding Spock!
