Where did all the time go? Right after school I went to Highline Community College for my AA and then to Central Washington to get my BA in Law and Justice. I finished school, and instead of getting the normal job like Mom and Dad wanted I played music. That lasted until shortly after the last reunion.
Somewhere in there my wife (Aileen Mattsen, yes some of you remember her from Sylvester) had returned from college so we moved in and later got engaged. After we were married and after the reunion I decided to give up on the Seattle music scene and go back to school.
I went to the Art institute of Seattle and got a degree in Computer arts and animation. upon graduating I attempted to enter to work force in the face of the dot com crash. Can you say "no jobs"?
That eventually led to to the UW Medical Center where I still work. When I'm asked what I do I respond that I'm an artist, but being a mechanic pays the bills. I was always good at it, I just didn't think it was what I would end up doing.
A few of us from AIS teamed up with some other aspiring gamers and we started our own little company, Ascension Games (www.ascensiongames.com). Hopefully that will yeild some productivity here in the next year.
In between all that I had three marvelous children who rule my world. Kids that get my humor and keep my feeling like I'm 12 (after all that's where all the fun play time is!).
I'm still madly in love and still have to remind myself that this is only the first third of my life.

I most likely wont see any of you at the reunion so go, be merry and leave the b.s. behind....jusy have fun. Highschool wasn't the favorite part of my life, but I did make good friends and learned how to b.s. my way through ta paper well enough to make it to midterms!

For you entertainment.....ah, how I felt about highschool..

School Story:

Frankly very little of my high school career sticks in my mind. Band, the trips to Victoria, the games, Mr. Stingers sarcastic humor (that made several unprepared girls cry), Frau. Paulin, Captain Highline and the assembly where the skit with the character "Mrs. Carriage" was censored before the afternoon group could see it.

I'm horrible with Teacher names but I do remember one of the teachers who liked to spike her mug right before class...you can't even get away with that now-a-days.
There was also the Art Teacher who we called "Old Fart" until he finally stepped out from behind his hippie vail and scolded us for being disrespectful...

To look back at it I thought the teachers were so old but they can't have been much older than we are now...damn.

Me and mah woman. Along as my bizarre humor and bad sense of timing doesn't drive her nutz I'm okay.

The two things my son and I have in common...black and Darth Vader. Not that Vader is my father but rather a deep respect and understanding of the Star Wars universe. Yes if you didn't know it I was a geek in high school and I still hold the title to this day. The way I look at it it has paid off well over the years. When the superhero movies come out who do you come to for the skinny...yep, it's me!

Quinn and I recently went to the opening of the temporary art space near town square. Behind her is "The Passage"..and if you haven't been there you really need to check it out!

Highline's marching band at this years Burien 4th of July parade. I'm sorry to say they didn't sound all that great and I hope we sounded better in the High school band.....well, maybe not.
